Pigeon Forge TN has quickly become one of the fastest growing cities in the Smoky Mountains. Year after year the town welcomes even more thrilling attractions, restaurants, shops and things to do for families. There’s many perks to staying in a Pigeon Forge cabin rental, but these are a few of our favorites:

1. You can save money when you stay in a Pigeon Forge cabin rental.

Believe it or not, staying in a Pigeon Forge cabin rental is cheaper than staying in a hotel or condo. Imagine this: you are staying in a cabin with a total of 10 of your friends or family members. It may seem like a larger cabin is more pricey, but when you break it down by cost per person, it’s not as expensive at all. In fact, some our our affordable cabins in Pigeon Forge can wind up being less than $20 per person per night!

At Amazing Views Cabin Rentals, we also want to make sure each of our guests gets the best deal, so throughout the year, so we also offer cabin specials and discounts. Take a look and save some money on your stay!

However, Pigeon Forge hasn’t always been such a popular vacation destination. It wasn’t until the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was established just five miles down the road in 1940 that the area saw a sudden jump in popularity.

For more information about the history of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, visit the National Park Service website.

With the help of a new road being built, the opening of two general stores and two churches, Pigeon Forge was well on its way to becoming the booming home of family-friendly entertainment it is known for today.

Before becoming a centerpoint for family vacations in the Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge was a simple and quiet farming community that was founded in the late 1700’s by father and son Isaac and William Love. Isaac built the town’s first iron forge while his son built the first tub milled called The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge.

The name Pigeon Forge comes from the passenger pigeons that used to frequent the area and feed off of the beech trees that lined the banks of the Little Pigeon River. Although the birds are now extinct, the town still holds the name.

Does a Pigeon Forge cabin vacation sound like the perfect getaway for you? No matter the season, Pigeon Forge is packed with so many fun and exciting things to do. When you visit in the fall, one of the most popular places to visit is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, because all of the fall colors cover the trees throughout the park. The national park is only a few short minutes away, and it’s the perfect time to take pictures and explore the national park in cooler weather.

Today, Pigeon Forge is also home to many of the area’s most popular attractions including Dollywood, Dollywood’s Splash Country, Dixie Stampede, Country Tonite Theater, and much more! Not to mention, by being with a day’s drive of two-thirds of the country’s population east of the Mississippi River, Pigeon Forge allows families and guests to spend more time having fun and relaxing while on vacation instead of having to spend most of their time stuck in the car.
