No one plans on having to deal with a rainy day in the Smoky Mountains when they’re getting ready for their vacation. When the weather changes and you don’t want to go hiking in the national park or wander up and down the Parkway in the rain, there are still plenty of fun things to do in the area. Check out this list of great things to do on rainy days in the Smoky Mountains:
1. Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies
With thousands of beautiful underwater creatures as well as exciting exhibits and interactive, hands-on experiences, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is guaranteed to bring a smile to everyone’s faces. One of the great things about visiting the aquarium is that there’s no rush to make your way through the attraction. You can take your time and explore as much of the aquarium as you want, for as long as you like. So, if you only need to spend a couple of hours there, you can, or you can spend an entire rainy day in the Smoky Mountains exploring and learning about the sea creatures.
2. Wonderworks
You can’t miss the big, upside down house that sits on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge! Instead of driving by it, go ahead and stop on in. You’ll enter an upside down world, but don’t worry–they will send you through the inversion tunnel to turn you right side up before you begin the fun.
