Tennessee is surely the most musical state in the nation! While Nashville and Memphis get the most attention, Gatlinburg is no slouch in the music department either. Our Smoky Mountain city offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy live music from both local and visiting artists. To help you make the most of your vacation, Amazing Views Cabin Rentals has put together this guide to finding Gatlinburg live music:

Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales (Seasonal)

Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales is one of Gatlinburg’s most beloved traditions. From early June through the end of July, the streets of downtown Gatlinburg are lined with talented musicians who perform a series of free concerts every night beginning at 6 p.m. As you stroll around The Strip you will hear wonderful country, bluegrass, and folk music from some of the area’s most talented performers.

During the holiday season (usually right after Thanksgiving until the week before Christmas), Gatlinburg hosts Winter Magic Tunes & Tales. These special concerts in downtown Gatlinburg take place on Friday and Saturday nights from 5 – 9:30 p.m. Audiences can expect to hear some of their favorite Christmas tunes performed with plenty of Appalachian flair!

Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival (Seasonal)A guitarist on stage under blue lighting.

Another major Gatlinburg live music event is the Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival . This five day festival brings some of the music industry’s best songwriters to the Smokies. In years past, the event’s featured performers have written hits for Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, George Strait, and other country music legends. The festival’s concerts are open to the public, and aspiring songwriters can even sign up for classes with the pros!

Gatlinburg Moonshine Distilleries with Live Music

Gatlinburg’s moonshine distilleries are some of the very best places to hear free live music. Sugarlands Distilling Company hosts regular concerts at their store on The Strip. Musicians from all around the country have stopped by the Sugarlands Spirit Stage, with most performers playing Americana music.

The Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery is another excellent live music destination. Known as “The Holler”, this distillery in downtown Gatlinburg hosts a variety of country and bluegrass acts. Be sure to check their concert schedule online to see who is slated to perform during your visit!

Gatlinburg Restaurants with Live Music

Gatlinburg is also home to a number of restaurants that frequently offer live music. Here are a few of our favorite places to eat and listen to some tunes:

  • Three Jimmy’s has musical entertainment most nights of the week. If you’re in the mood to do a little singing yourself, come for one of their karaoke nights!

  • Crystelle Creek offers live music every night.

  • The Loco Burro hosts live entertainment on most weekends (and during the week in the summer).

  • Smoky Mountain Brewery typically has live music or an open mic night on Monday through Saturday.
