Winter is an excellent time to visit the Smoky Mountains because it’s much cooler outside and the snow on top of the mountains is picturesque. Travel to Ober Gatlinburg and try your hand at skiing or snowboarding! The Spring is also lovely because of the many beautiful wildflowers that are in bloom. 2. What Hikes to Take

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has over a hundred trails to choose from for all kinds of hikers! Some of the most popular hikes include Abrams Falls, Porters Creek, and Mount LeConte. The Abrams Falls trail is a 5.2-mile roundtrip that leads to one of the most scenic waterfalls in the park. Despite the falls only being 20 feet high, they are one of the most voluminous waterfalls in the Smokies. Porters Creek has everything you could wan out of a hike. From beautiful wildflowers in the Spring to the remnants of an old town from early settlers, this 2-mile trail is filled with history. Mount LeConte offers one of the best views of the Smoky Mountains. Once you reach the summit, climb to the Cliff Top near LeConte Lodge and take in the sights for yourself. The options are endless when it comes what hiking in the Smoky Mountains.
