Our Summer Pigeon Forge Vacation Guide For Families
Where to Stay
In order for you and your family to enjoy a memorable vacation, you will need somewhere to sleep. That is why the first step of our summer Pigeon Forge vacation guide for families is to find the perfect place to stay. And, for us, nothing goes better with a family vacation than a spacious Pigeon Forge cabin rental.
In addition to offering guests a peaceful place to lay their heads, our Pigeon Forge vacation rentals offer a ton of other relaxing benefits that they cannot find with other rentals. These added amenities include:
- Private patios with mountain views
- Bubbling outdoor hot tubs

- ..and much more!
Another benefit of renting one of our spacious Pigeon Forge cabin rentals is that guests will feel as if they are staying in their own private vacation home during their trip. Unlike other lodging rentals, our cabins offer families a secluded place to stay, away from the distractions of other travelers and loud city noises. This means that guests will be able to stay focused on what is important during their summer Pigeon Forge vacation, their family and loved ones.

What To Pack
Packing is one of the most important steps when preparing for a Pigeon Forge vacation. This is everything that you and your loved ones will have available to you during your stay, outside of going shopping of course. That is why we want to make sure that guests take the time to prepare for their trip, which means making sure they pack everything they need.
Between gathering all the items for yourself, your kids and your spouse, packing can seem overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to. For a list of what we recommend families pack for their trip, read our Pigeon Forge vacation packing guide.
One of the best parts about taking a family vacation in Pigeon Forge is that it is just a short drive away. Many families who visit here can jump in the car and be here in a few hours. That is why we always recommend families consider driving here. Not only does this cut down on your travel cost because you don’t have to buy a plane ticket, but you can also drive your own car.
That being said, if you don’t feel like driving once you get here, you are in luck. Both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg have a reliable trolley system that can take you and your family nearly anywhere in the Smoky Mountains for a very small cost. Stops along the trolley routes include popular attractions like Dollywood, the Old Mill Square, the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts District, the Gatlinburg Visitor Center, and more! All you have to do is park your car near one of the stops and catch a ride on the trolley to begin your exciting day.
What makes the two trolley systems even better is that they offer free trolley rides that last all summer long. The free trolley rides usually begin around early June.
For route maps and trolley fares, be sure to visit the two trolley systems’ websites:
One of the biggest benefits of taking a summer Pigeon Forge vacation is that families have an endless amount of options of fun things to do when they are here. There is hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, spending the day at Dollywood’s Splash Country, strolling through the shops at at one of our great outlet malls and riding go karts on the Parkway.
