Gatlinburg Tennessee is home to one of the most unique festivals in the country, Smoky Mountain Springfest. The festival lasts a full three months long, giving visitors from all over the world a chance to participate. Most festivals last a few days to a couple of weeks, and if you’re not able to obtain a hotel room or tickets, you have to wait until next year. 1. The Spring Grand Rod Run
The Spring Grand Rod Run brings car enthusiasts from all over the country together in Pigeon Forge! Kick off your car show season with beautiful Fords, classic Chevys and GMCs, and Gold Wings. When you walk the Parkway you get the opportunity to take a seat in these gorgeous cars and trucks, and even take a look under the hood! This event is every car lovers day! Come see these stunning vehicles or enter your classic automobile in the competitions!
2. The Dolly Parade
A festival in the Smokies wouldn’t be complete without the queen herself, Mrs. Dolly Parton! The Smoky Mountain Springfest hosts the annual Dolly Parade on the Parkway for locals and visitors alike! Dolly herself rides a spectacular float as the Grand Marshall of her namesake parade. Accompanied with beautiful Spring floats, marching bands, and local celebrities, Dolly guarantees a fantastic parade that everyone will love! Don’t forget to take in the wildflowers and mountains views on the Parkway path the parade rides down!
3. Music of the Mountains
The Music of the Mountains weekend is filled with amazing tunes all throughout the Smoky Mountains! Based in three locations, The Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center, The Sugarlands Visitor Center, and the Smoky Mountain Visitor Center, The Music of the Mountains event can be heard all throughout the area. Everything from old, authentic instruments to modern bands will perform over the weekend, ensuring everyone’s music taste is satisfied.
Other Events
Other Smoky Mountain Springfest highlights include the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage, which features some of the most beautiful wildflowers in the Smokies. For any meat lovers, make sure you don’t miss the Bloomin’ BBQ and Bluegrass for the best eats and music in East Tennessee. While you’re in town, make sure you go see the Synchronous Fireflies light up the woods once the sun goes down. Don’t worry about missing the Easter church service! Spend Easter morning service on the mountaintop.
