So if you’d like a fully planned out weekend, check out our itinerary for a Smoky Mountain romantic getaway now.
Friday
Check Into Your Cabin Rental
If you count Friday as a travel day, you may not get here until later in the afternoon. The first thing you should do when you get here is check into your 1 bedroom cabin! We have a huge variety to choose from, and every one has all the amenities you want, a location you’ll love, and a comfy place to sleep!
Explore Downtown Gatlinburg
Once you’re all checked in, you should head out to downtown Gatlinburg to explore a little bit! You may find some unique stores in The Village Shops to browse through, or you could play some games at Fannie Farkle’s! Plus, you may spot something fun to try after you eat dinner, like moonshine tasting or experiencing Astra Lumina at Anakeesta! Gatlinburg is full of attractions for couples, so no matter what you decide to do on the first night of your Smoky Mountain romantic getaway, you’ll have fun being together.
Eat Dinner at The Greenbrier
When it’s dinner time, you should make your way to The Greenbrier. This upscale restaurant is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. You’ll love the romantic, mountain-lodge atmosphere, as well as the decadent dinner menu. Of course, you’ll want to look through the drink menu and try one of the signature cocktails. We recommend The Dylan, especially if you love a good Old Fashioned. Note: We recommend making reservations to eat at The Greenbrier before you come into town!
Saturday
Grab Breakfast at The Old Mill Restaurant
After an exciting first night on your Smoky Mountain romantic getaway, you’ll wake up ready to go for your second day! You can’t start on all the fun until you fuel up with breakfast, though. A fantastic place to start the day is The Old Mill Restaurant. The classic southern spread is the perfect place to grab breakfast in Pigeon Forge, with pancakes, eggs cooked to order, bacon, grits, and more! Once you’re done eating, you’ll want to walk through Old Mill Square to take in the history of the area!
Play Games Together
When you’re done exploring Old Mill Square, you’re ready to head out for more fun. And are you really on a couples trip if you don’t play at least one round of mini golf in Pigeon Forge? Some of our favorite spots include Crave Golf Club and Toy Box Mini Golf. After your game, you can head to The Track or Ripley’s Super Fun Zone to race go karts or do something unique and exciting, like zorbing at Outdoor Gravity Park or sky diving at Flyaway Indoor Skydiving!
Enjoy Lunch at Mel’s Diner
You two will find yourselves getting hungry after all the adventure of the morning, so you need to get some lunch, quick! A themed restaurant that’s super fun (and tons of people love) is Mel’s Diner! You’ll feel like you’ve gone back in time to a 1950s diner with everything being covered in chrome and neon signs. Plus, the signature diner food is delicious, and you can’t go wrong with a burger or pot roast!
Follow the Rocky Top Wine Trail
Many couples love wine tasting together, and if you’re one of those couples, then you can’t skip the Rocky Top Wine Trail on your Smoky Mountain romantic getaway! This trail is made up of 5 wineries in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge, and you can visit all or some of them for free wine samples. Each winery has signature flavors, and you may just find a new favorite!
Get Dinner at Puckett’s
Before you know it, it will be dinner time again! Another incredible restaurant you’ll want to experience is Puckett’s. They have mouth-watering southern barbecue, including pulled pork and brisket, but if you’d rather have a more southern style meal, you can’t go wrong with their fried chicken or a smoked bologna sandwich!
Explore The Island in Pigeon Forge
After dinner, you still have plenty of time to do something fun together, which is why you should head over to The Island in Pigeon Forge! This entertainment complex comes to life at night because of The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, which is romantic for any couple. There are several attractions you two will have a blast experiencing, from SkyFly to High Score, and you can take it easy by browsing through the shops or grabbing dessert at one of the many snack shops! You can end the night by watching The Island Show Fountain!
Sunday
Try Pancake Pantry for Breakfast
It’s your last day of the Smoky Mountain romantic getaway, so you want to make the most of it! You should head out for breakfast at Pancake Pantry, one of the most popular breakfast spots in downtown Gatlinburg! You two have to try one of their signature pancake dishes, but they also have platters with all your other breakfast favorites too.
Visit Gatlinburg SkyLift Park
Once you’re full of pancakes, you should find one more fun thing to do before you head back home, and that one thing is visit Gatlinburg SkyLift Park! There’s no better way to say goodbye to the Smokies than to take in the gorgeous views. Take photos in front of the mountains, then walk across the SkyBridge, along the SkyTrail, and maybe even pick up a souvenir in the SkyCenter!
